1. Acceptance

By using AnswerTab (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. AnswerTab is a Flux (FluxImpact) project.

2. What the Service currently is

A reader at /read/ and a Chrome extension, both of which explain a phrase you select and answer follow-up questions about it. Access is closed and granted by hand. Nothing is for sale, and there is no checkout — so nothing here is a sales contract.

3. Access tokens and reads

Your access token identifies your account and should be treated as a password. Do not share or publish it. If it is used in a way that looks abusive, it can be revoked.

One answer costs one read — a definition is a read, and so is each follow-up. If a request fails on our side or the provider's, the read is returned automatically. Reads have no cash value, are not purchased, and are not refundable in money.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to process material you have no right to process, to generate unlawful content, to attack or overload the infrastructure, to circumvent the read accounting, or to resell access. Do not reverse engineer or redistribute the client software; it is proprietary and is provided for your own use.

5. Your content

What you read stays yours. We claim no rights over the documents you open or the questions you ask. When you ask, the selected passage and a window of the surrounding document are sent to Anthropic to produce the answer — see the privacy page for exactly what is sent and what is kept.

6. Availability

This is early software in closed access. It can change, break, or be withdrawn without notice, and there is no uptime commitment. Keep your own copy of anything you care about — the reader stores your documents in your browser, and clearing site data deletes them permanently.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. ANSWERTAB DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI RESPONSES WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. AI-GENERATED CONTENT MAY CONTAIN ERRORS — DO NOT RELY ON IT FOR MEDICAL, LEGAL, FINANCIAL, OR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE WITHOUT INDEPENDENT VERIFICATION. An explanation anchored to a passage can be confidently wrong about that passage.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANSWERTAB'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM — which, while access is free, is nil.

9. Termination

You can stop at any time; ask through the contact form and the account and its ledger are deleted. Access may be withdrawn for breach of section 4, or if the Service is discontinued.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, where Flux operates. Nothing here limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot be waived by agreement.

11. Changes

These Terms can change; material changes will be reflected here with a new date at the top. Continued use after that date is acceptance.
